MONASTERY OF THE APOCALYPSE CAVE – SAINT JOHN THEOLOGIAN MONASTERY

The Monastery of Saint John the Theologian, also known as the Monastery of Saint John the Divine, is a historic Greek Orthodox monastery founded in 1088 in Chora on the island of Patmos. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the design project primarily focuses on the Library, which houses books and artifacts from the 11th Century, as well as the Museum. The detailed design encompasses essential installations, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, grounding and lightning protection, weak currents and intrusion systems, plumbing and drainage, and fire protection. The total area of the project is 1,300 m². JEPA was instrumental in the detailed MEP design, ensuring that all systems not only meet functional and safety standards but also align with the historical and architectural significance of this revered site.
